Igniting in defiance, Phoenix fiery, in protest of a looming, wintry fray- the subtle flames of Autumn's visual diary proclaims unyielding hope with bold display.
I'm excited to share this piece of visual poetry. I've been in a bit of a writng slump and just then my old buddy from Shadowness, former fellow co-Moderator Michael Evans asked me to pen a little something for this deviation he named "End of October". The theme and the feel of the image, which looks to me like a sentry waxing bold and steadfast as it takes a stand and peers out into the gathering chaos with his face to the gloom. I thought of the seasons as they relate to men, how we have our spring time vigor, then wax prime in the summe of our lives, and in our fading fall seem to produce more profound beauty as wisdom and sage seasoning add depth to our stories. The subtle flames of the flower made me think of a Phoenix, and it's solemn geas to rise from the ashes. This is about a promise of hope after life, and defiance against the dismay of a coming winters death. I hope you like this.
